1:30 PM - 2:30 PM    Writing Workshops - “Writing for Yourself"
Writing Workshops with Instructor T.J. Banks  “Writing for Yourself”As I see it, the most important thing in writing is this:  Write about what matters to you.  It’s really easy to lose sight of this -- even easier to lose your way as a writer.  You stop short, freeze up, and begin to doubt yourself and what you saw so vividly at the outset.  That’s when you need a thoughtful listener/reader, someone to bounce ideas off of.  What this workshop’s about is providing you with a safe creative haven where you can explore all kinds of writing and learn a few “tricks of the trade” that’ll make you a more thoughtful, more observant writer. T.J. Banks is the author of several books, including Moonlight & Grace, A Time for Shadows, Abys Among Us & Other Stories for the Feline-Inclined, and Catsong, as well as other books, anthologies and poetry. She has worked for The Associated Press and The Writer’s Digest School and taught writing workshops in both Connecticut and Massachusetts.
